dot-matrix printer paper, plywood.
As part of the Students Associate Scheme, I spent three weeks in the Art Department of a cornish secondary school.
I spent much of my time observing lessons and assisting the teachers, but took the opportunity to take over a small section of a year 7 lesson.
I wanted to introduce the children to my specialism of kinetic art. So, for the lesson I prepared a drawing machine to demonstrate to the class.
I also introduced my own work to them via my DVD portfolio and gave out an A4 fact sheet which I had created on the topic of kinetic art.
The children were allowed to operate various functions of the drawing machine, wearing safety goggels of course!!
A large drawing was produced by feeding a long length of printer paper through the machine.
The drawing was then divided up between the pupils at the end of the lesson.
